Vietnam travel attraction: Special events to be held during French Week in Da Lat

A series of activities will be held during a special French Week in Da Lat city, which was built by the French colonists in the late 19th century, in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, from December
They include a map exhibition, screenings of four French films, a concert and a photo exhibition highlighting Da Lat at night by French photographer Sebastien Laval.

The “Plague and Cholera” – a book by Patrick Deville (and printed in Vietnamese and French), which tells stories about Swiss-French doctor Alexandre Yersin, will also be introduced during the week.
Alexandre Yersin (1863-1943) was credited in Vietnam for finding Liang Biang plateau, a famous site in Da Lat city, in 1893, and founding the Medical School of Hanoi in 1902.

Co-organised by the French Embassy in Vietnam and the provincial People’s Committee, the event is part of activities to celebrate the 40-year diplomatic ties between Vietnam and France.
