Phu quoc has been a popular tourism destination in Vietnam to foreign visitors. Phú Quốc is the largest island in Vietnam. The island is part of Kiên Giang province, has a total area of 574 square kilometres (222 sq m²) and a permanent population of approximately 85,000. The district of Phú Quốc includes the island proper and 21 smaller islets. The district seat, Dương Đông, is located on the Northwest, and is also the largest town on the island. The economy is centered around fishing, agriculture and a fast-growing tourism sector; Phú Quốc being one of the most popular tourist destinations of Vietnam.

Phu Quoc is famous in producing the two traditional products: fish sauce and pepper. Fish sauce in Phu Quoc is one of the most popular and be preferred by most of Vietnamese people. ( The other is Phan Thiet fish sauce , Lang co fish sauce..) . Phu Quoc is surrounding by the sea that supplied the main material ( fishes ) for this industry plus their secret ingredients that made the Phu Quoc fish sauce has a good smell and taste.
Pepper is cultivated inland by many farmers, in the North of this Island. Pepper in Phu Quoc also well known as its strong taste for the gustation.
Nowadays, Phu Quoc is the best place for weekend relaxation after a long working week. There are flight routes from Ho Chi Minh City, Rach Gia to Phu Quoc every day. It takes just 1.5 hours by speed boat from Ha Tien to Phu Quoc and around 2.5 hours from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc.
By its natural beauties, quiet Island but luxury services, specially their nice beaches, the volume of local and international tourists came to Phu Quoc increased day after day. Duong Dong Town

Duong Dong Town is located on the Northwest of Phu Quoc Island. That is the most prosperous area in this Island and also is as the center of administration, economy and culture of Phu Quoc.
Duong Dong connected Ham Ninh Commune, An Thoi Port, Cua Can , Bai Thom, those are the main residential areas. The Phu Quoc Airport and many luxury hotels are located in Duong Dong

Dinh Cau

Dinh Cau is a Temple where the local people worship. It is located right in the gate of Duong Dong River. The local fishermen came here to pray before go to fish.
Besides the meaning of religion, that is a place for enjoying the beautiful scene of nature and the peaceful of Duong Dong River.

“ Sao” Beach

Sao Beach ( Bai Sao) is the most wonderful Beach in Phu Quoc. The beach is covered with the fine white sand that you can feel the smoothly and softly underneath of your bare feet. People compared the Sao Beach as a beautiful girl with hers nature beauty, no make- up.

An Thoi Port

An Thoi is the second big Town of Phu Quoc Island after Duong Dong. It is a quite busy town thanks to the port. Around 30km from Duong Dong, An Thoi is located on the South of Phu Quoc Island. The hydrofoil also uses An Thoi Port for their routes to/ from Ha Tien or Rach Gia.
An Thoi was named “ Cay Dua” under the French Colonial period as there was a very large coconut garden in this place.
Around 2km from An Thoi, there is a historical attraction site that is Cay Dua prison or Phu Quoc Prison. This prison was built under the French colonial period. It also used as a prison during the Viet Nam – American War.

Coral in Phu Quoc Island

Phu Quoc has 21 Islets around where are not much people living, even some of them without residence that is the good environment for the corals living and growing.
According to the research of UNEP, corals covered a surface around 480ha at Phu Quoc Island.
For getting to the corals area, travelers need to take around 40-60 minutes to those islets. Just let you floating on the water surface with your back up that you can enjoy the colorful corals through the transparent water.
Scuba diving and snorkeling information are easy to find at any hotel.
